MATCH NOTES
- Quinnipiac suffered its fourth five-set loss of the young season (against Fort Wayne, Toledo, Incarnate Word and FDU), as it fell to a hard-luck 0-9. One of the other losses was a close four-set defeat at Bryant (26-24 in the fourth), as well as 3-0 defeats to top 30 opponents Washington State and Baylor.
- Quinnipiac led 23-17 in the third with a 2-0 lead in the match, two points away from a sweep, before FDU rallied for a 27-25 win. The Knights then took the fourth set 25-23 after the Bobcats fought off the first three set points.
- After FDU tied the third set 23-23, freshman Gabby Horman (Smithtown, N.Y.) had a kill to set up match point for the Bobcats, but FDU fought it off and went on to the 27-25 win. It was the third match point the Bobcats have had this season, including two on opening day in a 3-2 loss to Fort Wayne.
- Quinnipiac led 8-6 in the fifth set at the changeover, but FDU closed out on a 9-2 run to get the win.
- The Bobcats came out strong, using a 7-0 run early in the first set to make the score 11-3. The run included two kills from senior Elizabeth Kloos (Munster, Ind.), two kills from sophomore Natalie Alechko (Old Tappan, N.J.) and two aces from junior Kat Miller (Collegeville, Pa.),
- After FDU cut an 11-point lead (16-5) in the first set down to 19-16, Miller had her third and fourth aces of the set in a 5-0 run that put the Bobcats ahead 24-16. Kloos closed out the set with her fourth kill for a 25-18 win.
- Quinnipiac fell behind in the second set 9-3, but five Kloos kills helped the Bobcats even the score at 17-17.
- With the score tied 19-19 in the second set, junior Jen Coffey (Merrimack, N.H.) had two straight kills to start a 4-0 run to give the Bobcats a 23-19 lead. FDU fought off three set points, before Alechko's kill finished off a 25-23 win to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead.
