The Quinnipiac Athletic Communications Office serves as the intermediary between the Bobcats' 21 varsity programs and local, regional and national media outlets.
Quinnipiac Athletic Communications works closely with Quinnipiac's coaches, student-athletes and administrators to publicize the accomplishments of all Bobcats student-athletes. In addition to publicity, Quinnipiac Athletic Communications also coordinates all statistical compilation, photography, video streaming, broadcasting, graphic design and publications, social media and website maintenance for the Official Website of Quinnipiac Athletics, gobobcats.com.
Quinnipiac Athletic Communications is at the service of coaches, student-athletes and members of the media 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For credentials to Quinnipiac athletics events, please contact the athletic communications contact for the specific sports. Please see the contact directory below for more information.
Quinnipiac Athletics Interview Policy
All interviews with Quinnipiac student-athletes, coaches and administrators must be coordinated with a member of the Quinnipiac Athletic Communications Office. Should a Quinnipiac student-athlete be approached by a member of the media, they are asked to please direct the member of the media to the appropriate athletic communications contact.
Media refers to technologies used to communicate messages and whose mission is to serve or engage a public. Public media domains include print outlets, traditional broadcasts, and digital. When utilizing any public media outlet, student-athletes are expected to conduct themselves responsibly as members of their respective team, the Athletics Department, the University and the community.
GoBobcats.com
GoBobcats.com is the only Official Website of Quinnipiac Athletics. Student-athlete bios, coaches' profiles, as well as game notes, schedules and results, statistics and up-to-the-minute Quinnipiac Athletics news are maintained by sports information and publicized at gobobcats.com. Should a Quinnipiac student-athlete find inaccurate information on gobobcats.com, they are urged to contact the appropriate athletic communications contact to correct the mistake.
Biographical Information Usage
At the beginning of every academic year, all Quinnipiac student-athletes will receive a link to complete an online form containing biographical information that will be utilized to develop the student-athletes online bio at gobobcats.com. Quinnipiac student-athletes are urged to complete these forms as thoroughly as possible so that Quinnipiac Athletic Communications has as much information as possible in order to publicize that student-athlete. By completing the form and submitting, the student-athlete gives their consent to Quinnipiac Athletic Communications to use that information for publicity purposes.
Student-Athlete Likeness Usage
At the beginning of each academic year, Quinnipiac Athletic Communications will coordinate photo sessions to shoot student-athlete head shots and promotional shots for use on QuinnipiacBobcats.com and other publications. In addition, Quinnipiac Athletic Communications will coordinate in-game photography to capture action shots of student-athletes in competition. By completing the online biographical information form, student-athletes give their consent to Quinnipiac Athletic Communications to use their likeness for promotional purposes.
For Media:
Working Press Credentials
Press and photograph credentials are issued to members of the working media only. These credentials can be obtained from the athletic communications office or at this link. For men's and women's basketball and ice hockey, passes will be held at the media credential check-in point at M&T Bank Arena. For all other sports, please coordinate coverage by contacting the proper sports information contact. Passes should be requested no later than 48 hours prior to a contest to ensure space availability.
Press Box Facilities/Services
The press area at M&T Bank Arena is accessible from the ground level via the press box entryway. For all other sports, direction to the press area will be coordinated by the athletic communications contact for that sport. Per NCAA regulations, only credentialed members of the media, coaches, league officials and designated administrators are allowed into this area. All members of the working media will be provided with extensive game notes, statistics, line charts and rosters approximately 90 minutes before each contest. Scoring and shot charts will be provided at the end of each period, while a complete statistical package will be distributed immediately following the contest.
Post-Game Interviews
The Quinnipiac locker rooms are closed to the media both for home and road games. A member of the Quinnipiac athletic communications staff will assist you in the interview process. Interviews with opposing players must be arranged with the opposing team's SID. Reporters can file from the press box following the game. Only credentialed members of the working media will be granted access to coaches and players following all contests.
Interview Policies
All requests for interviews must be conducted through the Quinnipiac Athletic Communications office. Requests must be made at least one day in advance to allow the player/coach to be properly notified. At no time will the player's dormitory telephone or cell phone number be released to the media. However, if a telephone interview is necessary, arrangements can be made for the student-athlete to contact that member of the media.
Practice Coverage
The Quinnipiac athletic teams practice at set times during both the fall, winter and spring semesters. All Quinnipiac players and coaches are available for interviews prior to, or following, practice with proper notification to the athletic communications office.
