Volleyball Falls in Invitational Opener to Stetson

Charleston, South Carolina – The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team opened competition at the College of Charleston Invitational against Stetson, falling in four sets.
Quinnipiac took the opening set from the Hatters, 25-21. Yagmur Gunes and Elena Giacomini led the Bobcats with four kills each. Damla Gunes recorded an ace to begin and end the set as QU started on the right foot.
Stetson took both the second and third sets decisively, winning 25-12 and 25-14, respectively. Elena Giacomini picked up five kills in the second set and six kills in the third set to lead the team.
The Bobcats got out to an 11-2 advantage in the fourth set, but Stetson came all the way back to even the set at 15. Stetson would outscore the Bobcats 10-4 the remainder of the set to close out the match.

- Elena Giacomini led the Bobcats with 23 kills in the effort. Giacomini also recorded seven digs, two blocks, two assists, and one service ace.
- Giacomini has led the Bobcats in kills in six of the seven contests so far this season.
- Yagmur Gunes reached double digits in kills once again as she recorded 10 kills. Gunes has recorded double-digit kills in five matches this season, including three straight.
- Klara Olszewska led the team with 21 assists, and Damla Gunes finished the match with 15 assists.
- Quinnipiac recorded more kills than Stetson, 44-40.
- The Bobcats registered seven service aces in the match. Damla Gunes recorded two to lead the team.
- Stetson recorded 21.0 total blocks compared to just 4.0 from the Bobcats.
