Quinnipiac Punches Ticket to Lake Placid with Sweep of Brown
3/15/2025 7:27:00 PM | Men's Ice Hockey
HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program is heading back to Lake Placid and the ECAC's Championship weekend after finishing off a sweep of Brown. The Bobcats took the second game of the best-of-3 by a 4-0 final behind a standout performance from Matej Marinov and a two-goal outing from Tyler Borgula.
Marinov stopped all 34 shots on his cage, finishing off a stellar weekend to help the Bobcats sweep and advance back to the ECAC Semifinals. After a scoreless first, Tyler Borgula started the scoring with a snap over the glove of the Brown netminder to give Quinnipiac all it would need.
The Bobcats would pot three in the third, with Mason Marcellus finding the net early in the period and Borgula and Victor Czerneckianair potting late tallies.
Quinnipiac advances to its fifth consecutive ECAC semifinals as it chases its second Whitelaw Cup trophy.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats will face the lowest seed remaining when they head up to Herb Brooks Arena for Friday's 4 p.m. semifinal.
Quinnipiac will face either Dartmouth, Cornell or Harvard with a berth in the title game on the line.
