Bobcats score two quick ones to begin extend winning streak over Yale
HAMDEN, Conn. — For the 17th consecutive time, the Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program defeated its Whitney Ave. counterpart, knocking off the Yale Bulldogs in front of a sellout crowd of 3,625 fans at M&T Bank Arena.
The Bobcats raced out early, after goals from Travis Treloar and Jack Ricketts less than two minutes apart gave the hosts a 2-0 lead less than six and a half minutes in.
Jeremy Wilmer scored a spinning goal in the third to make it 3-0 at the 5:06 mark of the second, his 11th of the season.
Aaron Schwartz finished off the scoring for the Bobcats, icing the game with 94 seconds left off a deflection in front from Travis Treloar to end the game on a high note.
Matej Marinov made a strong start in net, making 13 saves in the opening frame to ensure the Bobcat lead before making 22 total in the game.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats return home for senior night on Saturday, when they take on Brown at 7 p.m. at M&T Bank Arena.
They clinch the ECAC regular season championship and their fifth consecutive Cleary Cup with a win and a Clarkson loss to Colgate.

- Quinnipiac has not lost to the Bulldogs since Feb. 2018 and has not suffered a home loss since Feb. 2011 to the Bobcats.
- With the win, the Bobcats clinched a bye in the ECAC postseason, ensuring a home quarterfinal series from March 14-16 at M&T Bank Arena.
- Tyler Borgula extended his points streak to five with an assist on the night, tying his longest points streak of the season.
- Ricketts now has a point in six consecutive after his goal, his longest such stretch of the season.
- Treloar now has 25 multi-point games to his name, tied for the most on the team with Ricketts.
- Aaron Schwartz added his sixth multi-point game of the year, the most by any Bobcat first year.
