MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. - The Quinnipiac softball team dropped the first two games in The Spring Games against Florida Gulf Coast and Merrimack. This was the first day in Madeira Beach, and the Bobcats will play nine more games in the Sunshine State.

Highlights: Game 1 vs Florida Gulf Coast (24-0, 5 innings)

Junior Kayla Jensen, first-year Katherine Rodriguez, junior Brighid Douglas and sophomore Bridgets Nasir led the team with at least one hit each.
Rodriguez went 2-2 against the Eagles.
Three different Bobcats saw time in the circle, and first-year Lala Pascual got her first career start. Sophomore Lo Yarnall and Jense also pitched for the Bobcats.

Highlights Game 2 vs Merrimack (13-4, 5 innings)
First Inning - The Warriors started strong by scoring five runs in the first inning, but the Bobcats would come back and score two runs to cut the Warrior's lead down to three.

Jensen led the Bobcats again against the Warriors and went 2-2 with one run and was walked once.
Junior Brighid Douglas went 1-2 with one run and one RBI.
Pascual also went 1-2 with one run and led the team with two RBIs.

The Bobcats will look to bounce back on Sunday, March 7 against Holy Cross and Central Michigan. First pitch against the Crusaders is scheduled for 9 a.m.
