Softball Heads to Madeira Beach, Fla. for The Spring Games

Bobcats to play 11 games over the course of 8 days
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac softball team is set to compete in the The Spring Games from Saturday, March 7 to Sunday, March 15 in Madeira Beach, Fla. The Bobcats will play 11 games over the course of the week in the Sunshine State.
Quinnipiac is coming off a weekend in Los Angeles, Calif., at the Loyola Marymount Tournament. The Bobcats went 0-5 to start the season after dropping games to Sacramento State, Delaware and LMU.
The Spring Games
Fans are able to watch any game that is a part of The Spring Games through a subscription with Flo Softball.

First Four Games in Madeira Beach
The Bobcats will play the first four games of the trip on Friday and Saturday. Quinnipiac will take on Florida Gulf Coast, Merrimack, Holy Cross and Central Michigan to open its stint in Madeira Beach.
Scouting the Competition
FGCU holds a record of 13-7 overall this season. The Eagles' last five games have been played in Madeira Beach, and FGCU went 2-3. The Eagles lost to Iowa, Miami (OH) and No. 7 Florida and defeated Houston Baptist and Incarnate Word. Johneisha Rowe leads the Eagles with a .411 average with 13 runs, 23 hits and two doubles through 20 games.
The Merrimack Warriors have tallied an 0-6 record to start the 2020 season. The Warriors faced Manhattan, Colgate, Cornell, Albany, Providence and South Dakota Feb. 21-23. The Warriors' opponents outscored Merrimack, 61-15 through the first six games.
The Holy Cross Crusaders are also 0-6 through the beginning stretch of the season. The Crusaders dropped games against Georgetown, Towson, Virginia, Winthrop, North Carolina Greensboro at the Winthrop Tournament Feb. 14-16. Holy Cross then took on No. 11 Florida State in Tallahasse and lost 8-0.
The Bobcats will take on Central Michigan three times during the spring break trip. The Chippewas are 1-9 on the season and are coming off five games in Athens, Ga., at the Georgia Classic. Central Michigan picked up one win against Austin Peay and lost to No. 19 Georgia and No. 21 James Madison.
Leading the Bobcats
Sydney Tedim leads the team with a .500 average, going 6-12 in Quinnipiac's opening weekend. Against Delaware, Tedim went 2-3 with one run and had two putouts on defense. Senior Tiffany Kennedy-Cummings and sophomores Brooklyn Maguire and Lo Yarnall saw action in the circle for the Bobcats.
