Bobcats Shutout by Hornets in Final Game of LMU Tournament

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Quinnipiac softball team lost the final game of the LMU Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 23 to the Sacramento State Hornets, 8-0. The Bobcats and Hornets played twice in the LMU Tournament - Sacramento State took the first game, 10-4.
Bobcats vs. Hornets:
First Inning - The Hornets got its scoring started in the first inning after Sacramento State's Spieth was walked with the bases loaded. The Hornets would scored two more runs off of walks with the bases loaded to take a 3-0 lead after the top of the first.
Second Inning - Sacramento State scored three more runs in the second inning after Spieth hit a triple to center field. The Bobcats would also record an error in the second inning, which led to an uneaned run for the Hornets. Sacramento State's Rodriguez hit a double to send Mejia home and give the Hornets a 6-0 lead.
Eighth Inning - With a runner on base, Sacramento State's Gresham hit a home run and gave the Hornet two more runs.
Highlights vs Sacramento State:
The Bobcats will have some time off before traveling to Madeira Beach, Fla., March 7-15. Quinnipiac will play 10 games throughout the week.

The Bobcats will have some time off before traveling to Madeira Beach, Fla., March 7-15. Quinnipiac will play 10 games throughout the week.
