Cary Simms enters her fifth season as a member of the Quinnipiac softball team, and her first as an assistant coach. Her new field responsibilities associated with her position will be working with defense on the field and serving as the first base coach. In the office, Simms will be involved in planning official visits, equipment purchase and team travel planning.
Simms spent the 2009 season serving as an Undergraduate Assistant Coach for Quinnipiac. Her duties included hitting and pitching analysis, fielding instruction, practice organization and financial compilation.
Before her stint as coach, Simms was a utility player for Quinnipiac from 2005-2008. She appeared in 51 games in her career, starting 25 of them in her junior season. Simms drove in 12 RBI and posted a perfect fielding percentage in her final season with the Bobcats. Simms was also a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee during her undergraduate years at Quinnipiac. Simms has also been a coach in Connecticut Softball Summer Camp programs. She has participated as an assistant coach for the past four years.
A 2009 graduate of Quinnipiac, Simms received her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with a Minor in Marketing. She was on the Dean's List throughout her undergraduate career. She is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership at Quinnipiac.
