Jones will join Quinnipiac after spending his junior season at FIU, where he averaged 9.3 points, 2.4 rebounds & 2.2 assists per game in 2024-25. He shot 43.4% from the field at Florida International in just over 25 minutes per game.
"Asim is an athletic guard who can score, facilitate, and defend at a high level," Pecora said. "He will immediately improve our team on the floor."
The Paterson, NJ-native registered 10+ points in 15 different games this past season at FIU, including a 17-point performance in an opening round Conference USA Tournament win over Western Kentucky.
Before joining the Panthers, Jones spend two seasons at the College of Southern Idaho – where he helped lead the Golden Eagles to a 52-11 overall record. He helped lead CSI to its second-ever undefeated regular season record as a freshman. As a sophomore in 2023-24 at Southern Idaho, Jones averaged 17.5 points and 4.8 assists per game en route to an NJCAA Honorable Mention All American selection. He shot almost 50% from the field and 77% from the free throw line during his breakout sophomore campaign.
