
No. 8 Bobcats Sweep Providence with Season’s First Shutout

HAMDEN, CONN. – The No. 8 Bobcats completed a home-and-home series sweep against Providence, earning their first shutout of the season in the second game on Saturday.

After 27 minutes of scoreless play, Kahlen Lamarche opened the scoring for the Bobcats with her first goal of the season. The junior finished her weekend with one goal and three assists.
Peyton Cormier added her second goal in as many games against the Friars just 21 seconds later.
Aynsley D'Ottavio then extended the lead at 14:45 of the period, recording her first collegiate goal.

The Bobcats kept the momentum going in the third period, with D'Ottavio netting her second goal of the game and Ruby Rauk netting her first collegiate goal to round out the win.

Felicia Frank started in net and recorded her fifth career shutout, making 19 saves, improving the the Bobcats to 4-0 on the season.
STATS AND NOTES
- Aynsley D'Ottavio and Ruby Rauk scored their first collegiate goals, with D'Ottavio going back-to-back in the second and third periods.
- Peyton Cormier has now scored two goals in two games in her first year as a Bobcat.
- Kahlen Lamarche scored her first of the season. She finished off a four-point weekend, adding one goal and assist today after a pair of assists yesterday.
- Eight different bobcats recorded an assist in today's matchup.
- Felicia Frank recorded her fifth career shutout, making 19 saves.
- The Bobcats outshot the Friars overall (69-45), as well as in shots on goal (44-19).
- After today's win, the Bobcats have taken five of the last six matchups against Providence.

No. 8 Bobcats are set for a road trip to upstate New York, as they will play the Syracuse Orange. Friday's game is slated for 5:00 PM while Saturday's will begin at 3:00 PM and both are being streamed on FloHockey.
