Golf Ready For Navy Fall Invitational In Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, M.D. – The Quinnipiac women's golf program is back in action on Saturday, Sep. 28, and Sunday, Sep. 29 as the Bobcats will compete in the Navy Fall Invitational. The Invitational will take place at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club with 18 holes being played each day.

ARRIVED IN ANNAPOLIS

The Bobcats will compete in their second tournament of their 2024 Fall Schedule with the Navy Fall Invitational on Sep. 28th – 29^th at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club.
This will be the first time since 2022 that the Bobcats will compete in the Navy Fall Invitational. Quinnipiac finished in 2^nd place out of 15 teams in that event.
Quinnipiac last played in Annapolis last Spring in the Navy Spring Invitational where they finished in 2^nd place out of 11 teams.

LAST TIME OUT

Quinnipiac opened their 2024 schedule with the Red Bandana Invitational hosted by Boston College.
The Bobcats competed in three rounds (two on the opening day and one on the second day) and finished in 2^nd place out of 15 teams.
First-year Sophia Fujita was Quinnipiac's highest finisher as she finished in 9^th place. Fujita had a three-round total of 231 (+15) and shot a round best of 72 (E).

SEASON RECAP

Last year, the Bobcats competed in eleven tournaments (6 in the fall, 5 in the spring) and captured the title in three tournaments.
Leeyen Peralta won the individual crown at four tournaments throughout the year and Aimee Uchida took first place at the Hartford One Day Invitational.
The Bobcats wrapped up their season with the MAAC Championships at Disney's Palm Golf Course where they finished in a tie for second place.

RETURN GROUP

The Bobcats will return six members of the 2023-24 team with two seniors, one junior, and three sophomores.
Fuge Zhang and Meg Yoshida will return for their senior seasons.
Zhang rounded out her season last year in a tie for 11^th place (+13, 229) at the MAAC Championships in Florida.
Sandhya Vaikuntam is back for her junior campaign.
Alexia Egdahl, Natalie Spiska, and Samantha Galantini return for their second season in Hamden.
Galantini finished the MAAC Championships in 10^th place (+12, 228), the highest finish of any first year which named her the MAAC Rookie of the Year.

WELCOME TO HAMDEN

Head coach John O'Connor welcomed five first-years to Hamden before the season.
Tekla Fine-Lease, Marisa Flores, Sophia Fujita, Amy Goddard, and Vaidehi Shah will open their collegiate career in the 2024-25 season.

2024 FALL SCHEDULE

The Bobcats continue their tournament schedule with the Navy Fall Invitational (Sep. 28-29) in Annapolis, Maryland at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club.
Following the trip to Annapolis, the Bobcats will return to Connecticut as they host the Quinnipiac Classic (Oct. 14-15) at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn.
Quinnipiac wraps up its fall slate with the Lady Blue Hen Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware. The two-day tournament is set for Oct. 19-20 at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
