Bobcats Shipping Up To Boston For Red Bandana Intercollegiate

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's golf program returns to action this week, as the Bobcats travel to Canton, Mass. to compete at the Red Bandana Intercollegiate hosted by Boston College. The tournament will take place at The Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Mass. and will run on Monday ad Tuesday.

- "I look forward to seeing how these five golfers handle a new year against some of the country's best golfers. We get to see how three freshmen can compete at this level. We start with the first day playing 36 holes over about 10 hours of competition."

- QU finished the tournament in a tie for fifth place out of 16 teams.
- Leeyen Peralta finished in a tie for 3rd place overall after shooting 220 (+4) throughout the tournament.
- Alexia Egdahl wrapped up her first tournament as a Bobcat finishing in a tie for 10th place (+15) after shooting a 79 and 80 in rounds one and two, respectively.
- Sandhya Vaikuntam finished at +5 (77) after round one, while Riley Carey shot a 78 (+6). Both of them would end their days after the first round of play.
BACK IN ACTION
- The Bobcats return to action for the first time this season, as the last time we saw them, they concluded play at the NCAA Regionals at the Palm Beach Gardens Regional.
- Quinnipiac returns seven members from last year's team that won the MAAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Regionals
- The Bobcats have six tournaments scheduled for their fall season in 2023 and will wrap up at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational (October 21-22) in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
- Leeyen Peralta returns for her fifth year in the fall of 2023
- She competed in 11 events and averaged 74.52 strokes per round.
- Her average 74.52 strokes per round is an all-time program best.
- Peralta earned six top-10 finishes and five top-five finishes on the campaign.

- Zhang was named MAAC Golfer of the Year after she came in first place at the MAAC Championships.

- Her 214 (-2) at the MAAC Championship stands as the best three-round all-time score at the tournament.
