HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's returns home to open MAAC play against the Niagara Purple Eagles on Saturday, September 17^th at 12 PM.

The Bobcats enter at 4-1-1 overall, drawing against Rhode Island their last time out (9/11/22).

SENIOR DAY/ALUMNI GAME

The Bobcats will celebrate both Senior Day and host their Alumni Game on Saturday.
QU's Senior Class (14 total) will be honored in a pregame ceremony.

THE MATCHUP: vs. NIAGARA

Niagara is 3-4 so far this year, earning their three wins at Navy, home against Cornell, and on the road at Akron.
The Purple Eagles are 2-3 on the road this season and are coming off a defeat at Saint Francis (PA), 1-0.
Quinnipiac is 5-3-1 against Niagara since 2013, and have won the last five matchups.
The Bobcats are 2-1-1 against Niagara on home turf since 2013.

Rebecca Cooke was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week (9/5-9/11) after tallying three goals.
Cooke leads the MAAC in points with her eight goals and one assist.

LABERGE AND COOKE BOTH SCORE IN DRAW AT RHODE ISLAND (9/11/22)

Quinnipiac women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with Rhode Island on Sunday, Sept. 11 at URI Soccer Complex.
Paige LaBerge scored her second goal of the season two minutes into the first half after beating URI netminder Faith Hutchins in the box through defenders.
Rebecca Cooke added to the Bobcats early lead when she scored her eighth goal of the season and 17^th point of the year in the 11^th minute, just nine minutes later with help from LaBerge.

COOKE SCORES TWICE, ALVES TALLIES FIRST CAREER GOAL IN VICTORY OVER FORDHAM (9/7/22)

The Bobcats notched their fourth win of the 2022 season against Fordham at QU Soccer Field, defeating the Rams by a final score of 3-1.
Rebecca Cooke recorded her second two goal game in a row and has seven goals and one assist on the year.
First year Madison Alves tallied her first career goal in her first collegiate game.

BOBCATS BEST MAINE IN HAMDEN (9/3/22)

Quinnipiac women's soccer earned its third win of the 2022 season on Saturday afternoon in Hamden, topping Maine by the final score of 3-2 in Hamden.
Rebecca Cooke scored twice, and Paige LaBerge scored once for the Bobcats in the victory. QU moves to 3-1-0 with the win.
Rebecca Cooke gave the Bobcats their first lead on a penalty kick in the 31^st minute, then scored again in the 70^th minute to put the Bobcats up by a pair. Paige LaBerge scored two minutes later to extend the Bobcats' lead.

COMEBACK W vs. STONY BROOK (8/25/22)

Rebecca Cooke scored twice in the second half, leading Quinnipiac past Stony Brook on Thursday afternoon (Aug. 25) at the QU Soccer Stadium.
The Bobcats improve to 2-0-0 with the victory. Cooke scored once in the 50th minute of action to tie the game 1-1, then found the back of the net again in the 85th minute to lead QU to the comeback win. Courtney Chochol tallied her first assist of the year on Cooke's second goal.
Sofia Lospinoso made nine saves for the Bobcats. Quinnipiac outshot Stony Brook 17-12 in total.

SEASON OPENER: WIN vs. LAFAYETTE (8/18/22)

The Bobcats defeated Lafayette, 3-0, last week on Aug. 18 to begin the new campaign.
Quinnipiac scored three second-half goals to earn the victory.
After both teams played to a scoreless tie in the first half, Courtney Chocol was able to find the back of the net twice in the second half to secure the first multi-goal game of her career.
Anna Costello scored Quinnipiac's second goal of the contest, netting the first collegiate goal of the sophomore's career.
Junior keeper Sofia Lospinoso stopped the only two shots she saw in net en route to earning her first shutout of the 2022 campaign.

CHOCHOL CLAIMS FIRST MAAC OFFENSIVE POTW HONORS

Junior Courtney Chochol was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday, Aug. 22. This is the first weekly award honor for Chochol this season after just one game played.
The Ontario-native enjoyed a stellar start to her junior season, netting two goals in the Bobcats' season opening 3-0 win over Lafayette on Aug. 18. Her two goals and four points this season currently rank first in the MAAC (4.00 points/game).

TOP OF THE MAAC

Quinnipiac women's soccer has been selected as the preseason MAAC favorite, as announced on Thursday, Aug. 11 by the league office.
The Bobcats earned the No. 1 spot in the 2022 Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, receiving 10 of 11 first-place votes and 116 total points.
Junior Rebecca Cooke was also tabbed the league's Preseason Player of the Year. The Dublin, Ireland-native scored a team-high 13 goals last year for Quinnipiac, including six scores against MAAC opponents.
Cooke is joined by senior midfielder Markela Bejleri on the Preaseason All-MAAC Team. Bejleri recorded 14 points over 19 games this past season at QU.

HEAD COACH DAVE CLARKE

Dave Clarke enters his 23^rd season at Quinnipiac.
Clarke has firmly cemented himself as one of the premiere college coaches in the NCAA's highest division. He led the Bobcats to an NCAA Tournament berth in 2000 and a regular season title in 2001, and is the winningest coach in QU program history (205 wins).

2022 SCHEDULE

The Bobcats 2022 fall schedule features 16 total contests, including eight home games at the QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden.
The Bobcats will open the fall slate on Thursday, Aug. 18 on the road against Lafayette. Quinnipiac then returns to Hamden for its home opener against Stony Brook on Aug. 25.
The MAAC Tournament will take place on Oct. 30, Nov. 3 and Nov. 6 at the highest seed

LAST SEASON

The Bobcats went 13-5-1 last year, going 7-3 in MAAC play during the fall 2021 campaign.
Quinnipiac reached the MAAC Championship, falling against Monmouth on Nov. 7 in West Long Branch, N.J.
QU has advanced to at least the semifinal round of the postseason MAAC Tournament in five of the last six years.
