Women's Soccer Wraps up Non-Conference Schedule vs Dartmouth Sunday

Bobcats and Big Green to play Sunday at 1 PM
HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac women's soccer team will play the final non-conference game of the season against the Dartmouth Big Green on Sunday, Sept. 15 at home. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. The Bobcats are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss against UMass Lowell.

Last Time Out:
Quinnipiac hosted UMass Lowell on Wednesday, Sept. 11 and lost 2-1 in overtime. The River Hawks scored both goals on penalty kicks to earn the win. Sophomore Lauren Wendland scored the Bocbats' goal in the 59th minute of the game. Quinnipiac is 1-1 in overtime games this season.
Scouting the Big Green:
Dartmouth comes to Hamden to face Quinnipiac with a 4-1 overall record. The Big Green have outscored opponents 12-3, including a dominating 7-0 win against Florida International on Sept. 8. In 2018, the Bobcats and Big Green met for the first game of the season, and Dartmouth won, 2-0. The Big Green went 10-5-2 last season.
Phillips in the Net:
Freshman Meaghan Phillips tallied her third shutout of the season through six games. In 547 minutes played, Phillips has allowed six goals with 23 saves made. Her 0.99 goals against average is ranked fourth in the conference. The Ontario native's three shutouts are tied for first in the MAAC.
Defensive Unit:
In addition to Phillip's strong play between the posts, her defensive line has also been solid through the first six games. As a team, Quinnipiac has only allowed six goals against, which is tied for second in the MAAC. The Bobcats back line has also kept Phillip's save percentage down at 3.60 saves per game, which is the second lowest in the conference.
MAAC Play on the Horizon:
The Bobcats will play the last non-conference game against Dartmouth before beginning conference play. Quinnipiac will face Canisius in the opening MAAC game on Saturday, Sept. 21 in Buffalo, N.Y.
New Season, New Team:
Quinnipiac welcomes 11 newcomers to the squad, with five players coming from Ontario, four coming from New Jersey, Connecticut and Illinois, one from England and one from the Netherlands. Seventeen players will return from the 2018 roster, including Selena Salas, who received All-MAAC honors at the end of the season.
