Bobcats Take 4th Overall at New England Championships

BOSTON, Mass. - The Quinnipiac women's cross country team raced to a fourth place finish out of 22 teams competing in the 2019 New England Championships. Sophomore Emily Young led the team with a 15th place finish with a time of 18:19, which is a season best in the 5k race. Numerous Bobcats recorded season-best times in the 5k race at Franklin Park.

RESULTS (Women's Varsity)
- Senior Morgan Voight finished in 27th place with a season-best time of 18:37.
- Right behind Voight was senior Meghan Curtin with a time of 18:38 in 29th place, which was a a season-best time.
- Also notching a season-best time in the 5k was freshman Shannon Goria recorded a time of 18:52 in 37th place.
- In 39th place, freshman Clare Veverka recorded a time of 18:56, which is a season-best time for the freshman.
- Senior Amy Laverty placed in 57th with a season-best time of 19:13 in the 5k.
- Senior Kaitlin Bakas recorded a time of 19:14 in 59th place, which was her best time in the 5k this season.
- Junior Amanda Carlson took 11th place in the 5k run with a time of season-best time of 19:16.
- Junior Danielle Marcone best her season-best time by over a minute with a time of 19:16.
- Senior Marisa Keiser tallied a 23rd place finish with a time of 19:30.
- Sophomore Kate Gihorski took 26th place with a season-best time of 19:35.
- In 38th place and also recording a season-best time, sophomore Katie Bradley recorded a time of 19:59.
- Sophomore Mia Pestle recorded a time of 20:00 in 40th place.
- In 54th place, senior Sara Wilcox notched a time of 20:14.
- Sophomore Madeleine Shellard placed in 64th with a time of 20:29, which is a season-best.
- Junior Samantha Leal recorded a time of 20:35 in 67th place.
- Freshman Cassidy Phillips tallied a time of 21:45 in 110th place.
The Bobcats will compete at the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, Oct. 25.
