Chase for MAAC Four-Peat Begins Aug. 30 at Stony Brook Season Opener
HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's cross country program and head coach Carolyn Martin announced the release of the program's eight-meet schedule, culminating on Nov. 1 at the MAAC Championships, where they will look to win the program's fourth consecutive conference title.
The slate will feature the return of many events the Bobcats are accustomed to participating in, beginning with the Stony Brook Season Opener on Aug. 30 on Long Island.
The Bobcats will then get a preview of the MAAC meet course, competing at the Jasper Fall Invite at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, N.Y., on Sept. 13.
The national portion of the schedule begins on Oct. 3, where Quinnipiac will head to the annual Paul Short Invitational which features some of the best competition in the region. Another high-profile regional meet follows, as the Bobcats head to the New England Championships on Oct. 10.
Quinnipiac again earned a spot in the XC25 PreNational Meet, a precursor to the national championships at the end of November, held this season at the University of Missouri on Oct. 18.
The CCSU Mini Meet closes out the non-championship portion of the schedule on Oct. 24 before the Bobcats head to the conference meet the following week on Nov. 1.
NCAA Regionals follow that on Nov. 14, with the Northeast Region teams competing for a spot in the NCAA Championships the following weekend.
The Bobcats return two of their top three finishers from last season's championship team in Rachel St. Germain and Sierra Gray, while first year Madeleine O'Neill looks to improve on her All-Rookie performance from a season ago.
