HAMDEN, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team will look to extend its win streak to three games when it takes on local rival Sacred Heart on Saturday for a 12 p.m. contest at Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium.
LAST GAME (Quinnipiac 16, Hartford 4)
- Quinnipiac netted a season-high 16 goals against Hartford and had five players with two goals
- The last time the Bobcats had five players score multiple goals in a game was Apr. 21, 2013 in a 20-8 win over Saint Francis.
- The Bobcats maintained a balanced scoring attack that saw 13 different players tally at least one point.
- Julia Corrice (Sparta, New Jersey) picked up two goals against the Hawks. She now has three goals in the Bobcats' last two games.
- Ashley Bobinski (Kinnelon, New Jersey) scored two goals in the first half. She now has a team-leading 13 goals so far this season and leads the Bobcats with 10 points.
- Allison Kuhn (Kingsville, Maryland) tallied two goals in the win for the Bobcats.
- Kuhn also added two assists in the the contest as she assisted on Corrice's first goal and Ashley Bobinski's first goal as well.
- Maya Feigenbaum (West Hartford, Connecticut) continued her momentum and struck for two goals. The freshman now has three career goals after picking up her first-career goal against Saint Francis in Quinnipiac's last outing.
- Emily Byrne (Huntington, New York) extended her goal-scoring streak to four games with two goals against the Hawks. She has seven goals in 2018, which is second on the team.
- Kayla Moreau (Pearl River, New York) now has a three-game goal streak after her goal against the Hawks. She has four goals in three games for Quinnipiac.
- Avery Drouin (Derry, New Hampshire) netted her third goal of the season with less-than two minutes remaining in the first half.
- Loren Antonacci (Smithtown, New York) scored with 42 seconds remaining in the first half to push the Bobcats' lead to 8-2. The goal was Antonacci's third of the season.
- Ellie Swenson (Ipswich, Massachusetts) scored her first goal of the season with 10:42 remaining in the second half to give Quinnipiac the 14-3 lead.
- Alexa Paul (Warrington, Pennsylvania) struck for her first goal of the season to give Quinnipiac an 11-goal lead. She also tallied her first assist of the season.
QUINNIPIAC STORYLINES
- Sophomore attack Ashley Bobinski (Kinnelon, N.J.) leads the Bobcats in scoring with 12 goals and six assists, including a six-goal, two-assist effort in a win over Saint Francis.
- In the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the Bobcats were chosen to finish sixth in the MAAC this season. The top six finishers qualify for the MAAC Tournament, which will be held on Apr. 28 through May 6.
- Quinnipiac had a record-setting 2017 as it clinched a berth in the MAAC Tournament for the first time in program history with an 11-10 win over Siena on Apr. 19, 2017. The Bobcats fell to Marist, 17-10, in the opening round of the MAAC Tournament.
- Senior defender Kiera Kelly (West Islip, N.Y.) was named to the 2018 Preseason All-MAAC Team, as chosen by the league's coaches.
- Kelly had the strongest season of her career to date for the Bobcats in 2017, tallying 55 ground balls and 40 caused turnovers, which ranked second all-time in Quinnipiac history, while the 55 ground balls placed fourth.
- Kelly's 2.35 caused turnovers per game led the MAAC and ranked ninth in the country while her 3.24 ground balls per game ranked second in the MAAC and placed her 17th nationally.
- Kelly became the first student-athlete in program history to earn All-ECAC First Team honors with her selection in 2017. She was also the lone representative from the MAAC and one of only seven non-seniors to earn All-ECAC honors last year.
- Bobinski and Haley Everding (Fayetteville, New York) earned their way onto the All-MAAC Rookie Team last spring. Everding started all 17 games for Quinnipiac and logged the most minutes for the Bobcats while finishing second in caused turnovers (21) and fourth in ground balls (21). She also had the fewest turnovers on the team among players who started at least 10 games
