Jessica Lee Wins Three Titles to Help QU Indoor Track and Field to Second Place in MAAC

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Senior Jessica Lee won three MAAC Championships, taking first place in the 60-meter dash, the 60-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash, to lead the Quinnipiac women's indoor track and field team to a second-place finish at the 2018 MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday at the New Balance Armory Track and Field Center.
Lee, who won the Most Outstanding Track Performer for the second year in a row, set new school records in the 60 meters (7.52) and the 200 meters (24.13), while establishing MAAC Championship meet records in the 60 hurdles (8.29 in prelims) and the 200. The Bobcats (119 points) edged Rider (117) for second place behind Monmouth, with the team silver coming down to the final 4x400 relay. Rider entered the relay with a one-point lead over Quinnipiac, but the Bobcat 4x4 team of Marlo Wehrer, Christina Barbaro, Meaghan Scullin, Melissa Solomon ran a 3:51.11, placing them fifth in school history,, to provide the final two-point margin. .

- Senior Jessica Lee (Montgomery, N.J.) was named the MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships Outstanding Female Track Performer Award for the second year in a row after her triple title.
- Lee's 7.52 in the 60-meter dash eclipsed her own school record of 7.59 set earlier this month at the Boston University Valentine Invitational. - Lee ran a 24.73 in the 200 at the MAAC Championships last winter, but came in over a half-second faster this year to win in 24.13, setting a new school record. Shameal Samuels held the old record of 24.24 in indoor season, and 24.17 in outdoor season.
- Emily Wolff came in second place in the 3000 with a personal-best 9:50.14, one day after coming in first place in the 5000.
- Wolff also moved into fourth place in school history in the 3000, taking over five seconds off her top time.
- Marlo Wehrer finished a close second in the 400 with a time of 56.78.
- Abby Frank came in seventh in the 60-meter dash and moved up to fifth in Quinnipiac history with a personal-best 7.86.
- Kaleigh Roberts was second in the mile, coming in under five minutes in 4:58.86, and later added a fifth-place finish in the 3000 to give the Bobcats 12 points on the day.
- The 3:51.11 of the 4x400 relay team that clinched second place is the fifth-best time in school history
- Meghan Curtin moved into seventh place in Quinnipiac history in the 600 with a 2;15.19.
