
QU Acrobatics & Tumbling Rolls To Fifth-Straight Win With 279-266 Victory At Gannon

The Quinnipiac University acrobatics & tumbling team rolled to a 279.650-266.130 win at Gannon for its fifth-straight victory of the season. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 5-2 overall as well as a 5-2 record in National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association games and 3-0 in ECAC Acrobatics & Tumbling.
Quinnipiac was 17-2 in 19 heats including a a 10-0 opening before Gannon won a heat. The Bobcats swept the Acro, Pyramid and Toss events to head into halftime with a commanding 96.80-91.90 lead. Coming out the half, the Bobcats took eight of the last nine heats as it swept the Toss event and took five of six to capture the Tumbling event. Lastly, the Bobcats wrapped with a 99.27 in the Team event as they posted a 182.850-174.230 second half on their way to a win in their final regular-season contest.

Quinnipiac will return to action when it travels to Azusa, California to compete in the 2017 NCATA National Championships on Apr. 27-29 at Azusa Pacific University.

- Quinnipiac opened with a 9.45-8.05 in the ,Acro Heat, followed by a 9.70-9.60 win in the Pyramid Heat; a 9.90-9.75 win in the Toss Heat and a 9.10-8.55 win in the Tumbling Heat to capture the Compulsory Event by a score of 38.15-35.95.
- The Bobcats' 9.90 score in the Toss Heat was the highest score of the meet, matching the Bobcats' tally in the 6 Element Heat of the Acro Event and the Open Heat of the Pyramid Event.
Acro Event
- The Bobcats took all three heats of the Acro Event, winning the 5 Element by a score of 9.75-9.65; the 6 Element by a score of 9.90-9.80 and the 7 Element by a score of 9.75-9.30.
- The Bobcats' 9.90 in the 6 Element matched the highest score of the event.
Pyramid Event
- The Bobcats took the Inversion Heat, 9.70-9.40; the Synchonized Heat, 9.65-8.20; and the Open Heat, 9.90-9.60
Toss Event
- Gannon ended Quinnipiac's 10-0 run with a 9.35-9.00 win in the Salto Heat of the Toss Event.
- The Bobcats responded and took the final two heats, capturing the Synchronized Heat, 9.70-9.45, and the Open Heat, 9.85-9.55.
Tumbling Event
- The Bobcats grabbed the Duo Pass heat, 9.35-8.40, before Gannon won its second heat of the night, 8.90-8.40, in the Triple Pass.
- Quinnipiac won-out, grabbing the Quad Pass, 8.50-8.35; the Aerial Pass, 9.48-9.03; the 6 Element Pass, 9.55-8.45; and the Open Pass, 9.75-9.48.
