
Women's Tennis Travels for Weekend Set Against Niagara and Buffalo

BACK IN ACTION
The Quinnipiac women's tennis team is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 18, as it travels to take on Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Niagara at 3 p.m. The Bobcats will then take on Buffalo on Sunday at noon.
LAST TIME VS NIAGARA
The last time the Bobcats took on the Purple Eagles in a regular season match, Quinnipiac swept Niagara on the Bobcats' senior day, 7-0. It was the first matchup since these two sides met in the 2015 MAAC Championship, a match in which the Bobcats swept Niagara, 4-0, to take home a second consecutive MAAC title. Rachel Horton (Stamford, Connecticut), Sydney Young (Austin, Texas), Sitilia Rencheli (Sarasota, Florida), Proyfon Lohaphaisan (Santa Clarita, California) and Jennifer Lu (Cypress, California) all earned two victories on the day. The Bobcats would later go on to sweep Niagara 4-0 in the MAAC semifinals, setting up a championship bout with Marist.
SCOUTING THE PURPLE EAGLES
Niagara comes into the weekend with a 1-4 record, and have yet to play any matches in MAAC play. The Purple Eagles won their season opener against Daemen College, but have since then lost four straight matches against Youngstown State, University of Akron, Detroit and Cleveland State.
SCOUTING THE BULLS
Buffalo comes into the weekend with a 2-1 record, without playing any in-conference games yet. The Bulls started off the season winning two straight matches against St. Bonaventure and Detroit Mercy, before losing their first match of the season last time out against West Virginia.
KEEP THE STREAK ALIVE
Including MAAC Tournament matches, the Bobcats are 29-0 in matches against MAAC opponents since joining the new league coming from the Northeast Conference.
MAAC MONSTERS
In the Bobcats' two MAAC dual matches, they have gone 18-0 in competition. The team has posted a 12-0 record in singles play against MAAC opponents and 6-0 in doubles competition.
DUAL EXPERTS
In dual matches this season, the Bobcats boasts a 22-14 (.611) record in singles play and 12-6 (.667) record in doubles play.
DOMINANT DUOS
The Bobcats own a 49-17 (.742) record in doubles play this season. The duo of Horton and Young leads the team in wins with 15. However, the team of Layla Rodriguez (Rancho Santa Margarita, California) and Rencheli sit in second with 11 wins.
ALL THEY DO IS WIN
As the team heads into the weekend, Young leads the team in overall wins with 25, while Horton and Rodriguez are tied for second with 23 wins.
STREAKING BOBCATS
Multiple Bobcats own an above .500 record in their last 10 singles matches. Rodriguez leads the way with an 8-2 record in her last 10 singles matches, while, Young holds a 7-3 record in her last 10. Nicole Katzarkov (Coral Gables, Florida) and Horton have each earned six victories in their last 10 matches.

Following the weekend matches against Niagara and Buffalo, the Bobcats will be back in action on Sunday, Feb. 26, when the team travels to take on in-state rival Yale at 2 p.m.
