NEW HAVEN, Connecticut - The Quinnipiac men's tennis team will conclude the first portion of their 2017-2018 schedule this weekend when they make the short trip to New Haven, Connecticut to battle in the Connecticut State Championships. The Bobcats will feature eight singles players and four doubles teams.

The Bobcats will continue their 2017-2018 season after a three-month break during the winter months. The team will resume play when they travel to Hanover, New Hampshire to face Dartmouth on January 20.

TOP STORYLINES
- The Bobcats are resuming player after scoring three victories at the ITA Regionals that ran from October 18-20.
- Julian Rozenstein (Marlboro, New Jersey) obtained a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory over Cimrman from Dartmouth in the opening round of the ITA Main Singles Draw before falling to Mathenson of Columbia in the following round, 6-2, 6-1.
- Stern and Kyle Alper (Dix Hills, New York) combined for a 8-7(4) victory over Army to advanced to the second round of the Main Draw Doubles Thursday before dropping a hard-fought and close match to Princeton in the following round.
- Stern picked up a victory on Friday in a consolation matchup against Petrovic from NJIT 6-2, 5-7, 10-6.
- Freddie Zaretsky (Fair Lawn, New Jersey) lost 6-2, 6-2 in the opening round of the Main Draw Singles.
- Zaretsky and Rozenstein dropped an opening-round matchup against in-state foe Yale in the Main Doubles Draw, 8-3.
- Zaretsky and Rozenstein combined to win the Flight A Doubles bracket at the Quinnipiac Invitational. The duo collected four wins throughout that weekend.
- Rozenstein also started his senior campaign with a win the Flight "A" singles bracket at the UConn Invitational. Rozenstein has collected nine wins so far this year.
- Zaretsky was a perfect 4-0 in doubles in MAAC play in 2016-17 and will look to remain perfect as the Bobcats pick up MAAC play this season.
- Zaretsky and Rozenstein defeated John Oxner and Hector Andres Jacome, 6-3, in doubles play in their opening MAAC match against Saint Peter's.
- Rozenstein defeated Hector Andres Jacome 7-6(3), 6-1.
- During Quinnipiac's match against Saint Peter's, Alper gutted out a 6-3, 7-5 win for the third point at No. 3 singles, winning deuce points for the final two games of the match.
- Apler has won at least one match in the first two weekends of play for the Bobcats.
- Alper returns for his fourth season with the Bobcats after taking home a first-team ALL-MAAC selection in singles along with a second-team ALL-MAAC in doubles. He combined for 17 wins for Quinnipiac last season.
- Stern earned a quick 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles to push his win total to five after picking up three wins at the UConn Invitational and one at the Quinnipiac Invitational.
- Stern looks to build off his strong freshman season, where he picked up 30 wins in his rookie season.
