After a nearly three-month hiatus, the Quinnipiac men's tennis team will be back in action as they travel to take on the University of South Carolina on Saturday, Jan. 28 at Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire at 5 p.m., before traveling to Boston on Sunday to take on Boston university at 3 p.m.
SCOUTING THE GAMECOCKS
The University of South Carolina owns a 2-0 record and having not played a dual match in the SEC yet. The Gamecocks started their dual season on Jan. 20, when they took on The Citadel twice and won 7-0 in both matchups. The Gamecocks are led in wins by Thomas Mayronne who has earned 23 victories.
SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
Boston University holds a 2-0 record without playing a Patriot League dual yet. The Terriers opened up their dual season on Jan. 21, where they hosted Southern New Hampshire and Siena, defeating both teams 7-0, respectively. Marc Sable leads the Terriers in wins with 10, nine of them coming in singles competition.
KEI COUNTER
Senior Kei Ezaka (Ojai, California) comes into the matchup with 126 career wins which puts him in fourth place on the program's all-time list for wins. With one more win, Ezaka will be tied for third with James Kwei '12 and is 11 wins away from tying John Hughes '10 program-record of 137 wins.
SOMETHING ABOUT EIGHT
Freshman Austin Yannone (Severna Park, Maryland) owns an 8-1 record in singles play so far this season and has won his last four singles matches. Yannone's eight singles wins are tied for the team lead with Ezaka.
MAAC MANIA
In the Bobcats' two MAAC dual matches, they have gone 18-0 in competition. The team has posted a 12-0 record in singles play against MAAC opponents and 6-0 in doubles competition.
DUAL DOMINANCE
In the Bobcats three dual matches this season, the team holds a 25-2 record in their matches. The Bobcats are undefeated in nine dual doubles matches and hold a 16-2 record in dual singles matches.
DOUBLES DYNASTY
The Quinnipiac men's tennis team boasts a 27-9 record (.750) in doubles matches this season. Freshman duo Axel Stern (Tustin, California) and Yannone earned a team leading six wins as a duo. Patrick Cachapero (Loma Linda, California) and Ryoma Haraguchi (New York, New York) narrowly trail with four wins.

After taking on the University of South Carolina and Boston university, the Quinnipiac men's tennis team will travel to New York to take on St. John's on Friday, Feb. 3 at 9 a.m. at the National Flushing Center. On the next day, the Bobcats will travel to take on Brown at 3 p.m. in Providence, Rhode Island.
