
Roser and Zaretsky Win Flight "B" Doubles Title at Connecticut State Championship

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Luke Roser (Bernardsville, New Jersey) and Freddie Zaretsky (Fair Lawn, New Jersey) were crowned Flight "B" doubles champions at the Connecticut State Championship Sunday afternoon at the Yale Tennis Courts.
Roser and Zaretsky picked up their first flight championship together in the second tournament of the season for the Bobcats. For Roser, it is the second straight season he has won a flight championship after taking the Flight "C" singles title at last year's Quinnipiac Invitational. Zaretsky picked up his first career flight championship at the Quinnipiac state championship.
The Bobcats' duo took on Sacred Heart's Anthony Savio and Derek Chapman in the championship and came away with the 6-4 victory. With the victory, Roser and Zaretsky improve to 6-1 together to open up the 2015-16 season through the first two tournaments.
Also in action a championship match Sunday afternoon was sophomore Willem van Biezen (Warmond, The Netherlands) in the Flight "B" singles championship. In the championship matchup against Dylan Fletcher, van Biezen came up just short in each set, falling 7-5, 6-4.
The Quinnipiac men's tennis team returns to action next weekend at the UConn Invitational with play beginning on Friday, Sept. 25 at 2 P.M. and continuing on Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27 with play beginning at 9 A.M. each day.
