LAST WEEKEND IN THE BOOKS
The Quinnipiac men's tennis team takes the court for its final team weekend of the fall season with a pair of matches against local opponents as the Bobcats travel to West Hartford, Conn. to take on the Hartford Hawks on Friday at 4 P.M. before hosting the Saint Peter's Peacocks in their second MAAC matchup of the year on Saturday at 12 P.M.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
After starting the season with a 6-1 victory against the Saint Peter's Peacocks, the Hartford Hawks have lost three straight matches to head into Friday's match with a 1-3 record. All three losses this season have come against opponents hailing from the state of Connecticut, as the Hawks have lost to Fairfield, UConn and Sacred Heart. Since winning six matches against the Peacocks, the Hawks have won just three matches against their in-state opponents.
SCOUTING THE PEACOCKS
Saint Peter's has had limited action this fall, hosting Wagner and Hartford, falling to both opponents by scores of 5-2 and 6-1, respectively. Senior Danlil Ivanov has two of the three individual victories on the season to lead the Peacocks, winning a pair of matches at No. 1 singles. The Peacocks match against the Bobcats is their first MAAC matchup of the season after going 1-5 last season. The Bobcats defeated the Peacocks in last year's matchup, 6-1.
LAST WEEKEND RECAP
The Bobcats were a force to be reckoned with in the opening of dual match play last weekend with a 6-1 win over UConn and 7-0 win over Rider to open up conference play. Overall, the Bobcats won 16 of the 18 matches played dropping just one doubles match and one singles match. Four different Bobcats won four matches on the weekend to add to their impressive fall season total.
LUKE SKYWALKER
The Bobcats continue to be lead on the court by senior captain Luke Roser (Bernardsville, New Jersey) who is having a breakout year. Roser has already won 18 matches this fall, including a career-high 12 doubles matches. With 18 wins already, Roser is well on his way to setting a new personal single-season high for wins in a career. His 4-0 record last weekend brought him to 92 career wins, just eight shy of 100.
SCOOBY DOOBY DOO
Freddie Zaretsky (Fair Lawn, New Jersey) is having a stellar freshman season for the Bobcats on the court, having won 15 matches as she has gone 15-3 for the best winning percentage on the team. Zaretsky has seven singles wins and eight doubles wins already in his young career.
"KEI" AND PEELE
Kei Ezaka (Ojai, California) reached a career milestone over the weekend by winning his 80th career match after going 4-0. The Bobcats No. 1 singles player has won 10 matches this season, including six in singles matches. He is just one win shy of winning his 40th career doubles match as he has his eyes set on 100.
HEY SONNY
Another impressive performer for the Bobcats, Julian Rozenstein (Marlboro, New Jersey) won a match over the weekend to hit the 50 career win mark at a rapid pace in his career. With 34 wins a year ago, Rozenstein has already won 16 matches this year as he is fourth on the team in wins after a three-way tie for first place.
HOUSE FREY
Willem van Biezen (Warmond, The Netherlands) won three matches for the Bobcats as he continues to rise up the depth chart.
