CROMWELL, Conn. – Sophomore Nicole Scola (Westerly, R.I.) fired a final-round 73 to win the fourth annual Quinnipiac Women's Golf Classic on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. It was her first career victory and helped Quinnipiac to a fourth place finish.
After a frigid first round, the skies cleared and the sun came out as Scola continued her impressive performance at the tournament. Scola finished the day on a strong note rattling off birdie-par-birdie on the final three holes to secure the individual victory by a six stroke margin of Hartford's Brooke Nethercott. Nethercott finished Day Two with a 77.
For the entire second day, Scola picked up four birdies as she led the Bobcats on the leaderboard. Scola finished with five birdies overall in the tournament.
