- Graduated from Mark T. Sheehan High School in Wallingford, Connecticut
- Distinguished herself as one of the top throwers in the state across her four-year high school career
- Never finished outside the Top 10 in the shot put in any of her appearances in the Southern Connecticut Conference Championships, Class MM Championships and Connecticut State Championships
- Cleaned up in her senior season where she earned the State Championship in the discus during the outdoor season and was the state runner-up in the shot put during the indoor campaign
- Also named the Class MM Champion in the shot put and discus during the outdoor season and shot put in the indoor season
- Taking home her first Class MM title in her sophomore season (shot put indoor), Mendygral went on to claim four Class MM shot put titles in her career
- Placed Top 10 in the shot put in New England five times in her career
