- Started the season with a 52nd place finish at the Stony Brook Invitational (8/30) with a time of 17:38.64
- Placed 75th overall at the Nassaney Memorial Race (9/6) with a time of 22:18.1
- Clocked in at 22:55.6 at the Monmouth Invitational (9/20)
- Finished a season-high 10th-fastest on the team at the Paul Short Open Run (10/4), clocking in at 26:54
- Wrapped up the season at the New England Sub-Varsity Championships (10/11) with a time of 21:58.78
As a Freshman in 2013:
- Finished the Bryant Invitational in 99th place overall with a time of 23:04.7 in her only appearance during the 2013 season
Before Quinnipiac:
- Graduated from Bethel High School in 2013 after lettering four times in cross country
- Also lettered three times in swimming and twice in track and field while at Bethel
- Named team captain for her senior year
- Dominated from her first varsity season as she holds the Bethel High School cross country course record for her freshman, junior and senior year
- Broke out in her junior year (2011), placing 10th (6:37 average mile) at the Class MM Stats at Wickham Park, qualifying for the State Open
- Whalen’s breakthrough is the first time Bethel sent a runner to the State Open in 10 years
- Ran the State Open at Hommonassett Park and placed 87th overall with a mile pace of 6:43
- Blossomed into a dynamic runner her senior year as she recorded two individual race victories as well as two runner-up finishes
- Made the Honor Roll as a student all four years at Bethel
