Bio
About Sam
Sam Hayden is in his second year of the Cheshire Bridge to Life transition program at Quinnipiac University’s North Haven campus. He’s been part of the Bobcat family since 2019 and is a familiar face at practices, games, and team events.
Sam’s love of sports runs deep. At Cheshire High School, he managed the soccer and basketball teams, competed in track, and joined in Unified basketball and cheerleading. Today, he k
eeps that spirit alive through Special Olympics, where he competes in golf, soccer, and basketball, and as a proud member of Cheshire Challengers baseball.
With the Bobcats
Sam officially joined the team at a Draft Day press conference in October 2019, and he’s been making an impact ever since. His energy and support on the sidelines have been part of some of Quinnipiac’s biggest moments, including the Bobcats’ undefeated home run to the 2022 MAAC Championship and their CT College Cup win in 2023.Before Quinnipiac:
Sam came to the Bobcats from Team IMPACT, whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing serious and chronic illnesses through the power of team. Team IMPACT is a national nonprofit that connects children facing serious and chronic illness with college athletic teams, forming life-long bonds and life-changing outcomes.
Personal:
Sam is from Cheshire, Connecticut. He’s the son of Derek and Marcie and has two siblings, Molly and Luke.
