Alex Russow becamethe first Quinnipiac freshman to win the Akadema/NEC Rookie of theWeek award since Chris Migani won the honor on April 27, 2009. Heis also the eighth Quinnipiac player to win the weekly award sincethe NEC began honoring first-year players in2000. He is also theeighth Quinnipiac player in NEC history to win the Pitcher of theWeek award. Andy Mayer was the last Quinnipiac pitcher to receivethe honor, on May 11, 2009.

Named the Akadema/NEC Pitcher and Rookie of the Week on Apr.6...Posted a 2-3 record with a 6.00 ERA...Appeared in 13 games,including four starts...Gave up 28 earned runs over 42 inningspitched...In his first collegiate appearance, he gave up one run onfour hits over two innings against North Carolina State on Mar.5...Gave up one run on three hits in two innings of work againstDuke on Mar. 9...Pitched 8 1/3 scoreless innings in relief for hisfirst career victory against Sacred Heart on Apr. 3...He alsostruck out a season-high six batters in the victory...Improved to2-0 after allowing four runs over five innings against LIU in an11-10 win...Held Bryant to one run over 2 2/3 innings on May15.
