
Quinnipiac Earns Comeback Win Over Siena

Christian Smith and Cole Constable led the way on the offensive side of the ball, each driving in two runs. Constable drove in the tying and game-winning run with his single through the right side in the ninth inning.
Mike Poncini and J.C. Franconere combined for seven innings, allowing just two runs. Poncini got the start and went 4.0 innings, recording five strikeouts.

The Bobcats opened the scoring in the top of the first inning as CJ Willis doubled to the right-center field gap to score McCulloch from second.
Siena would respond in the bottom of the second inning as they would take a 2-1 lead on a two-run homer to left field.
The Saints maintained a 2-1 lead until the top of the seventh inning. Quinnipiac knotted the game up at two on a RBI single from Kyle Garbowski that scored Cole Constable.
Quinnipiac took the lead back in the top of the eighth inning as Sebastian Mueller pulled a double down the third base line to bring home Alex Irizarry with their third run of the game. Quinnipiac got more insurance in the inning as Christian Smith followed up with an RBI single through the middle of the infield, making it 4-2 Bobcats.
The Saints loaded the bases in their half of the eighth inning and took the lead on a grand slam to deep left field.
With the Saints leading by two and two outs in the inning, Christian Smith drew a bases-loaded walk to bring the Bobcats within one. With Quinnipiac down to their final strike, Cole Constable sent a single through the right side to bring home two runs and give Quinnipiac a 7-6 lead.
Siena got two runners on in the final inning, but Matt Alduino kept them off the board as he recorded his third save of the season and sealed the win for the Bobcats.
