QU Drops MAAC Contest Saturday vs. Iona

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac men's lacrosse program dropped a MAAC contest vs. Iona, 12-8, on Saturday afternoon at the QU Lacrosse Stadium.
Nick Meoni, Justin Robbert and Cole Marsala each scored during the opening period to give the Bobcats a 3-2 advantage.
Iona then took a 5-3 lead, and Quinnipiac battled back to even the score 5-5 heading into the break after goals from Trevor Douglas and Nate Watson.
The Gaels outscored QU 3-1 in the third period, and 4-2 in the fourth to earn the road win.
The Bobcats fall to 2-3 in MAAC play with the result.

- Justin Robbert scored two goals and added an assist for the Bobcats, while Nate Watson chipped in with one goal and two helpers.
- Trevor Douglas also scored twice for QU.
- Ryan Goodman chipped in with one goal and one assist for two points.
- QU outshot Iona 49-33 in total.
- Iona turned the ball over 20 times, and QU committed 16 miscues.
- Quinnipiac went 18-of-20 in clear attempts.
- Iona went a perfect 4-for-4 on extra man opportunities.
- Faceoff wins were even 12-12. Frank Mousa won 7-of-14 battles in the x, while Nick Smith won 5-of-10 chances.
- Ryan Downing caused three turnovers and scooped up four ground balls, both team-high marks for Quinnipiac.
- The Bobcats return to the field on Saturday, April 5, playing host to Sacred Heart for Quinnipiac's senior day in Hamden.
