HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac softball team was shutout 4-0 in game three of their MAAC opening series against Iona on Sunday afternoon.

QU fell behind early with the Gaels scoring three runs on first inning errors. Sydney Horan kept QU within striking distance throughout the game, striking out 11 batters. It wouldn't be enough as Iona would add another in the fifth to push their lead.

Sydney Horan tied her career-high with 11 strikeouts.
She now has done it three times in her career, the last time coming against UAlbany on March 1, 2024.
Mary Fogg added a hit to extend her on base streak to 13 games.
Noelle Reid had two hits, her second multi-hit game of the season.
