Oakville, Ontario native becomes third consecutive Bobcat to earn accolade
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — Quinnipiac men's ice hockey forward Jack Ricketts earned the Gladiator ECAC Best Defensive Forward, the league announced at its annual awards banquet on Thursday night on the eve of the ECAC Semifinals in Lake Placid, N.Y.
The Oakville, Ontario native is the third consecutive Bobcat to earn the award, joining Skyler Brind'Amour (2023) and Jacob Quillan (2024) as Quinnipiac honorees to win the trophy.
A transfer from Holy Cross, Ricketts made an immediate impact at both ends of the ice for the Bobcats, leading the squad in goals and leading all Quinnipiac forwards in blocked shots.
He also garnered second team all-conference honors, along with teammate Mason Marcellus, after finishing second in the league by scoring 14 goals in 22 ECAC contests. It is the third straight season he's earned an all-conference honor, finishing with a pair of All-Atlantic Hockey accolades as a member of Holy Cross.
The defending Cleary Cup champion Bobcats take on Cornell on Friday as part of the 2025 ECAC Championship semifinals, with the winner taking on the winner of Clarkson and Dartmouth in Saturday's final at 5 p.m.
