Bobcats Drop Games to South Dakota and Mizzou on Saturday Afternoon

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Quinnipiac softball team dropped both of its game on day two of the Mizzou Invitational at Mizzou Softball Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
In game one against South Dakota State, QU took an early 3-0 lead on an RBI single from Noelle Reid and then her and Riley Potter scored on a wild pitch and an error. South Dakota State came back with four runs of their own in the first inning and extended their lead in the second, third, and fifth innings. Sofia Vega reached on a fielder's choice in the sixth to score Lauren Hilliard but it wouldn't be enough as the Bobcats would fall 9-2.
In game two against the hosts, Mizzou, QU fell behind early with Mizzou scoring seven runs in the first four innings. QU would get one back in the fifth on a Mary Fogg single but it wouldn't be enough as QU falls 7-1.
