HAMDEN, Conn. — Quinnipiac men's ice hockey forwards Mason Marcellus and Jack Ricketts were named to the All-ECAC Hockey Second Team, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Both are no strangers to postseason honors, as Marcellus earned All-Rookie status a season ago in the ECAC, while Ricketts is a two-time meber of the All-Atlantic Hockey Second Team at Holy Cross in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 campaigns.
Marcellus was a consistent presence for the Quinnipiac offense during the regular season, recording a point in 24 of his 34 appearances en route to a career-high 24 assists. He had a nine-game point stretch from Nov. 15 to Jan. 1, recording a goal or assist in every game during that span that is the second-longest stretch in the league this season.
Ricketts, entering the season as the nation's active leading goalscorer, maintained that title with a career-best 20 tallies that put him second in the league. 16 of those came since the holiday break, the third-most goals in that span in the country and tied for the most in the conference. This included a pair of hat tricks during the second half, scoring four against AIC on Dec. 29 and three at Dartmouth on Jan. 31 that included both the game-tying and game-winning tallies.
The Bobcats return to the ice on Friday night, hosting Brown in a best-of-3 quarterfinal series at M&T Bank Arena. Puck drop in Game 1 is slated for 7 p.m, while Game 2 and the if necessary Game 3 are set for 4 p.m. puck drops.
