Bobcats Split Final Day of Space U Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Quinnipiac softball team split its games in the final day of the Space U Invitational, falling to Columbia 10-2 before shutting out FGCU 1-0 at the UCF Softball Complex.
In game one, the Bobcats took an early 2-0 lead thanks to a Natalia Apatiga first inning single. QU wouldn't score again and a seven-run sixth inning would break the game open for Columbia.
QU fought back in game two, holding FGCU to just three hits and no runs. Noelle Reid scored the lone run of the game, scoring from third base on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning.

- She leads the Bobcats with eight RBIs this season.
- Sofia Vega and Mary Fogg each scored their third runs of the season to lead the Bobcats.

- Vega now has two stolen bases this season after having three all of last season.
- Sydney Horan notched her first complete game shutout win of the season, matching her total from last season.
- Noelle Reid matched Mary Fogg and Sofia Vega with her team-leading third run of the season to win it for the Bobcats.
- Reid is nearing her run total from a season ago which was four.
