HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac field hockey returns home on Friday before hitting the road again on Sunday, taking on Temple and Wagner in its next weekend of regular season action.
The Bobcats will welcome the Owls, who have split their first two Big East contests of the year, before heading down to Wagner to take on the Seahawks on Sunday afternoon.

The Bobcats will welcome the Owls, who have split their first two Big East contests of the year, before heading down to Wagner to take on the Seahawks on Sunday afternoon.
BIG EAST HONOR ROLL
- Francisca Eschoyez earned BIG EAST Honor roll accolades this week after a five-point weekend that featured a goal and assist against Boston University before scoring what would become the game-winning goal on Sunday against Columbia.
- Mo Quaile was named BIG EAST Honor Roll after scoring her first two collegiate goals against Stonehill on Sept. 6.
- The Owls enter with wins in eight of 10 contests, including splitting its first two Big East contests. They defeated Georgetown 2-1 before falling to Villanova in its league openers.
- Peyton Rieger leads the Owls with 14 points, scoring five goals and dishing four assists. Mathea Lassalle also has five goals to her name on the year.
- Floortje Leunisse leads a 4-5 Wagner team with 13 points, tallying five goals and three assists.
- Francisca Eschoyez was recently named to the All-BIG EAST Preseason Team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
- She also was named to the NFHCA Division 1 Watchlist on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
- Cameron Brower, and Cristina Torres return for their second straight year as captains of the Bobcat squad, with the addition of junior Katie Shanahan to the leadership group.
- All three have been mainstays on the pitch for the Bobcats over the past few seasons.
- Brower and Torres have each played in 45-plus games while Shanahan led the Bobcats in minutes last season.
- Head Coach Nina Klein and her staff brought in seven newcomers ahead of this season, with six first year players and one transfer, Alexa Kidd.
- Among the group, there are three joining QU from The Netherlands, Rozemarijn Van Keulen, Charlie Caunter, and Maaike Van Wensen.
- Jenna Livathares, Veronica Goettner, Jaelyn Crossman, and Alexa Kidd are each from the United States.
- QU's roster is made up of 13 underclassmen among the 23 players.
- Nina Klein was named the head field hockey coach and second coach in program history, effective Friday, April 28, 2023, replacing longtime head coach Becca Main.
- A season ago, Klein helped lead a new look Bobcats squad, and helped standout First Year Francisca Eschoyez to Second Team All-BIG EAST honors.
- In her first season at the helm of the Bobcats, Klein helped the Bobcats to one of their best finishes in BIG EAST play.
- Klein also helped guide Stella Tegtmeier to the first major BIG EAST award in program history, with Tegtmeier taking home BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year in 2023.
- A selector for USA Field Hockey U16 goalkeepers, Klein returns to Quinnipiac after serving as the assistant field hockey coach at Boston College for the 2022 season.
- Prior to her time at Boston College, Klein joined the Bobcats under Becca Main and was elevated to associate head coach in prior to the 2019 season.
- A UConn graduate, Klein served the Huskies as a volunteer assistant for the 2018 season.
- The Bobcats' 2025 schedule will be 18 total matchups, playing seven Big East games and 11 nonconference.
- They will face four Patriot League teams, three NEC teams, two America East teams, and one team each from the Ivy League and CAA outside of their normal seven game BIG EAST schedule.
