MADEIRA BEACH, FL. – The Quinnipiac Softball team went 2-0 in its first day of the Spring Games, defeating Monmouth 4-3 and Albany 3-1.

In game one, the Bobcats rallied back after going down 3-0 to rattle off runs in the fourth and fifth inning.

In game two, Sydney Horan led the Bobcats from the circle, pitching a complete game while only giving up one run on three hits. She also had 11 strikeouts.

Mary Fogg reached on a throwing error, scoring Hannah Davis and Brooke Hilliard. (QU 3, UA 1)

NOTES
Game One

Abby LaClair continued her stellar rookie season driving in a run while going 1-3.
Amanda Engel went 2-2, with a run a scored.
Mac Davis had her first run of the season, stealing home.
Jaclyn Gonzalez pitched three no hit innings in relief and struck out two batters.

Game Two

Mary Fogg and Brooke Hilliard each had an RBI.
Six different Bobcats recorded hits.
Abby LaClair went 1-3 with a run scored.
Sydney Horan pitched all seven innings, giving up one run and three hits. She struck out 11 while only giving up three walks.

NEXT UP
The Bobcats have a quick turnaround, playing two more games in the Spring Games tomorrow against Southern Indiana at 11:00 AM and St. Bonaventure at 1:30 PM.
