Golf Back in Action at Lady Blue Hen Invitational

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – The Quinnipiac women's golf program is ready for the final tournament of the fall season as they will compete in the Lady Blue Hen Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware. There will be two rounds (36 holes) played on Saturday, October 19th and one round (18 holes) played on Sunday, October 20th to close out the Invitational.

BACK BY THE BEACH
- The Bobcats will compete in the Lady Blue Hen Invitational for the third straight season.
- On Day one of the invitational, the Bobcats will play 36 holes, two rounds, before wrapping up with 18 holes on the final day.
- Last season, the Bobcats came in 4th place out of 11 teams at the event. Leeyen Peralta was the highest finisher for the Bobcats as she tied for 4th place (219, +3).
LAST TIME OUT
- The Bobcats are coming off a 3rd place finish at the Quinnipiac Classic earlier this week.
- The Bobcats ended day one in fourth out of eleven teams but finished the second day in a tie for 3rd place.
- Samantha Galantini and Sophia Fujita finished in a tie for 5th place (+11, 227), which were tied for the best finish out of the Bobcats that competed.
SEASON RECAP
- Last year, the Bobcats competed in eleven tournaments (6 in the fall, 5 in the spring) and captured the title in three tournaments.
- Leeyen Peralta won the individual crown at four tournaments throughout the year and Aimee Uchida took first place at the Hartford One Day Invitational.
- The Bobcats wrapped up their season with the MAAC Championships at Disney's Palm Golf Course where they finished in a tie for second place.
RETURN GROUP
- The Bobcats will return six members of the 2023-24 team with two seniors, one junior, and three sophomores.
- Fuge Zhang and Meg Yoshida will return for their senior seasons.
- Zhang rounded out her season last year in a tie for 11th place (+13, 229) at the MAAC Championships in Florida.
- Sandhya Vaikuntam is back for her junior campaign.
- Alexia Egdahl, Natalie Spiska, and Samantha Galantini return for their second season in Hamden.
- Galantini finished the MAAC Championships in 10th place (+12, 228), the highest finish of any first year which named her the MAAC Rookie of the Year.
WELCOME TO HAMDEN
- Head coach John O'Connor welcomed five first-years to Hamden before the season.
- Tekla Fine-Lease, Marisa Flores, Sophia Fujita, Amy Goddard, and Vaidehi Shah will open their collegiate career in the 2024-25 season.
2024 FALL SCHEDULE
- The Bobcats continue their tournament schedule with the Navy Fall Invitational (Sep. 28-29) in Annapolis, Maryland at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club.
- Following the trip to Annapolis, the Bobcats will return to Connecticut as they host the Quinnipiac Classic (Oct. 14-15) at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn.
- Quinnipiac wraps up its fall slate with the Lady Blue Hen Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware. The two-day tournament is set for Oct. 19-20 at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
