Bobcats Ready To Compete At The Yale Fall Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's golf program is back in action, as the Bobcats take the short trip to New Haven, Conn. to compete at the Yale Fall Invitational. The tournament will take place at The Course at Yale will run on Saturday and Sunday.

- "The Yale golf course offers a very difficult challenge especially in the rain. The competition will be extremely tough and I'm looking forward to seeing how our lineup will do."
- Quinnipiac finished the Yale Invitational in seventh place among 15 teams.
- Leeyen Peralta led Quinnipiac's grouping, tying for 19th. She led the Bobcats by shooting for par or better on 35 of 54
- Quinnipiac's three-round score of 882 (+30) set a new program record for the Bobcats at that time. That record was broken at the 2023 MAAC Tournament, where Quinnipiac finished with a three-round score of 873 (+9).
- Leeyen Peralta won her first tournament of the season, coming from behind at the Red Bandana Intercollegiate in Canton, Mass.
- Peralta shot a 73 (+1) in the final round to put her into first place on the leaderboard. She finished the tournament a +6 in three rounds, shooting 222.
- Alexia Egdahl wrapped up her first tournament as a Bobcat finishing in a tie for 10th place (+15) after shooting a 79 and 80 in rounds one and two, respectively.
- Sandhya Vaikuntam finished at +5 (77) after round one, while Riley Carey shot a 78 (+6). Both of them would end their days after the first round of play.
- The Bobcats return to action for the first time this season, as the last time we saw them, they concluded play at the NCAA Regionals at the Palm Beach Gardens Regional.
- Quinnipiac returns seven members from last year's team that won the MAAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Regionals
- The Bobcats have six tournaments scheduled for their fall season in 2023 and will wrap up at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational (October 21-22) in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
- Leeyen Peralta returns for her fifth year in the fall of 2023
- She competed in 11 events and averaged 74.52 strokes per round.
- Her average 74.52 strokes per round is an all-time program best.
- Peralta earned six top-10 finishes and five top-five finishes on the campaign.
- She recorded a team-best 68 birdies on the season, while also setting the program record
- Her 11 rounds for par or better tied the program record.
- Peralta earned All-MAAC honors for the third straight season.
- She shot a career three-round best at the MAAC Championships, shooting a 216 (E).
- Fuge Zhang returns for her junior season in 2023.
- She appeared in 12 events last season, averaging 77.19 strokes per round.
- Zhang was named MAAC Golfer of the Year after she came in first place at the MAAC Championships.
- She shot a career three-round best 214 (-2) at the MAAC Championship in 2022
- Her 214 (-2) at the MAAC Championship stands as the best three-round all-time score at the tournament.
- Zhang notched four top-ten finishes and came in the top-five three times.
- Zhang earned All-MAAC honors for the second straight season.
