Bobcats Sit in Second After Round One at MAAC Championship

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – After the first round of play, the Quinnipiac women's golf team sits in second place at the 2022 MAAC Championship. The Bobcats finished the day shooting a team score of 296 (+8) to sit behind first place UAlbany by one stroke.
This is the first time Quinnipiac has shot under 300 in the opening round of a conference conference tournament, and just the second time recording a sub-300 round in a conference tournament. QU shot a 294 (+6) in the second round of the 2021 MAAC Championship,which is tied for the fourth lowest round in program history.
After the first round of play, the Bobcats led the way with 13 birdies and ranked as the second best team on par threes and par fours.
Leeyen Peralta and Kaylee Sakoda led the Bobcats in the first round with a 71 (-1). They are currently tied in second place individually at -1 for the tournament. First-year Fuge Zhang tied for 11th after the first day of competition after shooting a 76 (+4). Aimee Uchida rounded out Quinnipiac's grouping after carding a 78 (+6) to tie for 18th.
