With the loss, the Bobcats fell to 4-9 on the season, while the Rams improved 8-8 on the campaign with the win.

The Bobcats struck first in the opening frame after Danny Melnick belted a two-run homer to left to give Quinnipiac a 2-0 lead.
Quinnipiac held VCU to two runs through the first four innings of play, however, the Rams posted four runs between the fifth and eighth innings to take the 8-2 victory.

- Melnick went 1-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs
- Anthony Donofrio, Sebastian Mueller and Matt DeRosa added a hit apiece
