Aasen Scores Twice, Scaglia Records Go-Ahead Strike on Senior Day
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer earned an impressive 4-1 victory over Manhattan on Saturday afternoon at the QU Soccer Stadium, picking up three crucial points in the MAAC standings.
Brage Aasen led the way with two goals and one assist for QU, while graduate student Griffin Scaglia scored the go-ahead goal on Senior Day.
With the victory, the Bobcats now have 12 points (4-5-0 MAAC) in the conference standings. QU heads into Wednesday's regular-season finale at Saint Peter's as the No. 8 seed in the league.

FIRST HALF
(3' – Manhattan 1, Quinnipiac 0): James Cotter scored less than three minutes into action for the Jaspers, giving Manhattan a one-goal lead.
(6' – Quinnipiac 1, Manhattan 1): Brage Aasen scored to even things just over three minutes later. Paulo Soares chased down the ball, turned, then played it into the box with his left foot. Aasen made a nice touch inside the box, then blasted a shot into the back of the net with his right foot to even the score.
(13' – Quinnipiac 2, Manhattan 1): Griffin Scaglia recorded the go-ahead goal in the 13th minute of play. Brage Aasen played a corner kick into the box, then a header from Sam McCann found the foot of Scaglia – who put it home for the score.
(51' – Quinnipiac 3, Manhattan 1): Aasen scored his second goal of the match just before halftime, beating the Manhattan keeper to the left side to give QU a two-goal advantage. Paulo Soares earned an assist on the score.
SECOND HALF
57' – Quinnipiac 4, Manhattan 1): Sam McCann scored the fourth and final goal for the Bobcats. Paulo Soares evaded a defender, made a move up the right side of the pitch, then played a perfect cross into the box. McCann scored on the header from Soares to make it 4-1.
