Bryan Schick Wins Main Draw Finals During Day 3 of CT State Championships

Alexander & Cachapero Win in Consolation Finals

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Bryan Schick defeated UConn's Evan Powell in the main draw finals on Sunday afternoon, highlighting all Quinnipiac men's tennis performers in Day 3 action of the 2018 Connecticut State Championships.

Patrick Cachapero also won in straight sets during the final round of his respective consolation bracket, while Jack Alexander also won his match in the backdraw finals for the Bobcats.

NOTES

Bryan Schick is now 6-3 in singles matches this fall as a freshman.
Patrick Cachapero earned another singles win in the consolation title contest, moving to 5-4 so far in 2018.
Jack Alexander won a singles contest in the backdraw finals, his fourth singles victory of the year.
Alester Magalit and Austin Yannone both advanced to the final round of their respective flight in singles action, as both fell in the title contest on Sunday.
The Bobcats won 17 total matches in the tournament, earning 14 wins in singles play and three victories in doubles.
With the Day 2 win, Alester Magalit has a team-best 10 singles victories so far in 2018. The freshman has won five singles matches in Quinnipiac's past two tournaments. Magalit is 10-4 so far in 2018 in singles action during his freshman season with the Bobcats.
Austin Yannone has posted a 4-2 record in singles matches so far this season. The junior has recorded 21 wins so far in his collegiate career.
