Attended Shenendehowa high school along with fellow freshmen Phil Roach and Alex Grout, where he ran cross country and outdoor track...during his senior season, the Shenendehowa cross country team finished ranked seventh in the country...named first team all-state during both junior and senior seasons...finished fifth in the N.Y. state federation cross country meet as a senior and 14th as a junior...team placed fourth in the Great American Race of Champions, in which he placed eighth overall in the race...during the outdoor season he was part of the 4xmile team that was named national champions...All-American as part of the distance medley relay team that finished third at nationals...finished sixth in the state in the two mile and seventh in the federation...part of the Penn Relay champions in the distance medley relay.
