HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's soccer team defeated Caldwell 3-1 at the Quinnipiac Soccer & Lacrosse Stadium this afternoon to pick up their first win of the season.

The Bobcats came out of the gate flying, with William Holum intercepting a pass back off the start and scoring just 50 seconds in. They added another in the 18th minute after Fredrik Moen found Sivert Ryssdalsnes at the top of the box and he fired it off the crossbar and in to make it 2-0.

Caldwell got back within one, scoring in the 57th minute but Drew Monteserin would add one more for ther Bobcats after receiving a pass from Sivert Ryssdalnes.

Sivert Ryssdalsnes led the way for QU with a goal and an assist.
He now has four points on the year, tying him with Luke Schierenbeck for the team lead.
William Holum and Andrew Monteserin each scored their first goals of the season.
The sophomore class has four of QU's seven goals this season.
Matthew Pisani notched the first assist of his career, after making his first start in goal of the season.
Pisani also made two saves, including one late to keep the lead.
The Bobcats outshot Caldwell 21-7, with 10 of those on net.
QU had seven corner kicks to Caldwell's two.
