Fujita Named Conference's Golfer of the Month

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's golf sophomore Sophia Fujita was named the Levy Recognition MAAC Women's Golfer of the Month, as announced by the league office on Wednesday, October 1st.
The Torrance, California native had a tremendous first month back for the Bobcats. In her first tournament action of September, Fujita finished in a tie for 7th place at the Nittany Lion Invitational hosted by Penn State. Fujita recorded a three-round total of 219 (+3) and shot a 70 (-2) in the second round for her best round of the tournament.
After competing in State College, PA, Fujita and the Bobcats turned their sights to the Autumn Harvest hosted by Lehigh. Fujita had a phenomenal tournament, taking home the individual title and leading the Bobcats to the team title. Fujita carded a 69 (-2) in round one, a 68 (-3) in round two, and a 67 (-4) in the final round on Tuesday. Finishing with a three-round total of 204 (-9), Fujita set the program record for the best 54-hole performance in Quinnipiac women's golf history.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Monday, October 13th, and Tuesday, October 14th, as they host the Quinnipiac Classic at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford, CT.
