Chochol, Lospinoso Named to All-New England Second Team

HAMDEN, Conn. – Courtney Chochol and Sofia Lospinoso have been named to the 2024 NEWISA DI All-New England Second Team, as announced by NEWISA on January 24th. The team, voted on by NCAA Division I coaches from colleges and universities in New England, comprises a first, second, and third Team.
"The 2024 NEWISA All-New England Team highlights the best student-athletes from colleges and universities in the region," said NEWISA President Tom McGuinness. "These players represent many of the most talented collegiate players in the country. They have pushed their teams to success on the field and we are proud to recognize them for all they have achieved. NEWISA congratulates all these players for a tremendous season."
Courtney Chochol had a phenomenal final season in Hamden, leading the team in goals (7) and points (21). Chochol was named to the All-MAAC first team after finishing fifth in points, sixth in goals, and sixth in assists (7). Chochol finished her time in Hamden with 27 total goals and 36 assists for 90 total points. Back on October 16th, Chochol set a new program record for career assists.
Sofia Lospinoso had a tremendous season in goal for the Bobcats, recording eleven clean sheets this past season. Lospinoso was named the conference's top goalkeeper after leading the MAAC in shutouts, goals against average (.654), and being second in the league with a save percentage of .838. Lospinoso set a new program record for career shutouts (32) and wins (53).
