Baseball Falls Despite Three Hits From Marino

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Quinnipiac baseball team dropped the middle game of the series, 4-2, to the Fairfield Stags in Fairfield.
With the loss, the Bobcats will fall to 19-30 overall and 9-14 in the MAAC, while Fairfield will improve to 32-21 overall and 20-3 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After two scoreless innings, CJ Willis stepped up to the plate in the third inning and broke the scoreless tie. Willis launched his eighth home run of the year to left-center field to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
Fairfield would tie the game at one run apiece as Bergevin hit a solo home run to left-center field to get the Stags on the board.
With two runners in scoring position, Bergevin singled to left center to score both runs and give Fairfield a 3-1 lead in the eighth inning. The Stags made it a 4-1 game with a bases-loaded walk as they headed to the final inning with a three-run advantage.
Jared Zimbardo got the Bobcats within two runs as he hit a solo home run to left-center field and made it a 4-2 game.
